Free MO CDL School Bus Practice Test 2024

Did you know that black ice is more common during early morning hours and just before sunrise? Because temperatures tend to drop overnight, this thin layer of ice often forms on bridges and overpasses. In Missouri, this hazardous weather condition poses a difficult challenge to school bus drivers. School buses are heavier and take longer to stop, which makes skidding on black ice extremely dangerous. Since these buses can carry up to 72 children, even a minor accident could result in significant injury. That’s why all school bus drivers have a specialized skill set and undergo rigorous training to drive these vehicles under dangerous conditions.

To become a school bus driver yourself, you must pass a knowledge test on school bus driving, and a skills exam in a school bus if you didn’t already do so for your CDL. Then you can obtain a School Bus (S) endorsement on your CDL. You must also follow a similar process for a Passenger (P) endorsement. If the school bus you plan to drive has air brakes, you must also have the air brakes restriction lifted from your CDL by passing an Air Brakes knowledge test and a skills test in a vehicle equipped with air brakes if you haven’t already done so before. To help you prepare for the CDL School Bus knowledge test in Missouri, we offer a series of practice tests.

These practice tests are structured similarly to the official written exam, closely reflecting its content and format. There are 20 questions based on the official 2024 CDL manual, covering all aspects of the School Bus endorsement, including safety protocols, loading and unloading procedures and laws regarding school bus operation.

Each question has multiple answer choices, but only one is correct. While the CDL manual is essential for studying the various rules and procedures, these practice tests will give you an idea of how well you’re retaining the material and which areas you might need to improve. As you prepare for the actual written exam, make sure to also understand the other requirements. You must pass a medical exam, undergo a drug test and have your driving and criminal records checked by the local authorities.

Our free Missouri CDL school bus practice tests are updated regularly (most recently for December 2024), ensuring that you are reviewing the most current information available. Remember, the path to becoming a school bus driver in Missouri involves more than just passing exams. It’s about fully mastering this subject and understanding the significant responsibility of safely transporting children to and from school.
